As an old saying says, the power of a man is tiny , but the power of the collective is huge.

As a teacher in this flat and globalized world, we have to learn reaching out and also helps our children to reach out, to connect with the broaden world, to interact with with the others, which prepare them to be a global citizen.

Here reaching out has two layers. The first is for children. They are reaching out through reading. Also they can connect themselves with others from the world through reading and digital tools. The second layer is for teacher. Teachers can improve stduents' reading engagement by creating a community, discussing and developing in reading workshops or other professional commitee, influencing and working togetehr with other teachers, and asking help from authorities and parents and so on.
